Continuous Market Monitoring Programme for the Postal Industry

The national postal authorities in 19 countries as well as their international co-ordinating industry body commissioned Andrew Lester & Associates to design a cost-effective market-monitoring programme based on telephone interviews with business selectors and arrangers of international postal services. The questionnaire content and research methodology is consistent across Europe and North America and tracks key market indicators in the international business letters, express and parcels sectors.

At its peak the total number of interviews delivered was 41,200 per annum across 19 countries. Additional services included an inquiry hotline, industry intelligence gathering and support services for data users.

Annual programme deliverables included the electronic delivery of quarterly data at both country and regional levels. Postal clients used the results for both strategic and tactical purposes, as well as for benchmarking other research tools and materials.
